Benny and the Great Pancake Chase

Benny was a small blue rabbit who lived in a cheerful little town called Jellybean Junction.

Benny loved three things more than anything else:

Carrots.

Adventure.

And pancakes.

Especially pancakes.

One Saturday morning, Benny woke up to the most wonderful smell.

“Pancakes!”

He rushed into the kitchen.

His grandmother was standing beside a giant stack of fluffy pancakes.

“Breakfast!” she announced.

Benny’s eyes became enormous.

There were chocolate-chip pancakes, banana pancakes, strawberry pancakes, and even pancakes shaped like stars.

Benny reached for the biggest one.

But just as his paw touched it—

WHOOSH!

A sudden gust of wind blew through the open window.

The biggest pancake flew into the air.

“My pancake!”

It bounced onto the windowsill.

Then onto the roof.

Then—

BOING!

It landed on a passing delivery cart.

Benny stared.

The pancake was rolling away.

“WAIT!”

He ran outside.

The pancake rolled down the street.

Benny chased it.

It rolled past the bakery.

Past the school.

Past the fountain.

Then it bounced off a mailbox.

BONK!

“Come back!”

Benny’s best friend, Coco the yellow cat, saw him running.

“What are you chasing?”

“My breakfast!”

Coco blinked.

“Your breakfast is running away?”

“Technically, it’s rolling!”

Coco laughed and joined the chase.

The pancake rolled faster.

Benny and Coco followed.

Soon they were joined by Max the turtle.

“Where are you two going?”

“After a pancake!”

Max looked confused.

“But I thought pancakes were food.”

“They are!”

“Then why is this one exercising?”

Nobody had an answer.

The pancake rolled toward the town square.

There, it hit a small ramp.

BOING!

It flew through the air.

Benny jumped.

Coco jumped.

Max jumped.

None of them caught it.

The pancake landed on the back of a sleepy goat.

The goat opened one eye.

“Maaaa?”

Then it ran.

Now the pancake was riding a goat.

“This is getting ridiculous!” Benny shouted.

The goat raced through town.

Benny chased the goat.

Coco chased Benny.

Max chased Coco.

Soon half the town was running behind them.

Finally, the goat stopped beside a pond.

The pancake slipped off its back.

It landed perfectly on Benny’s head.

Everyone became silent.

Benny slowly lifted the pancake.

“Got you.”

The crowd cheered.

But then Benny looked at the pancake.

It was covered in dust.

It had bounced off a mailbox.

It had ridden a goat.

It was definitely not something anyone should eat.

Benny sighed.

“My pancake is ruined.”

Grandma Rabbit arrived carrying another plate.

“Good thing I made extras.”

Benny’s face brightened.

She handed everyone a fresh pancake.

Benny took a bite.

“This is even better than the first one!”

Coco laughed.

“That’s because you didn’t have to chase this one.”

Benny thought about the morning.

He had started with breakfast.

Somehow, he had ended up running through the entire town with a cat, a turtle, a goat, and half the neighborhood.

He smiled.

“Maybe the pancake wasn’t a disaster after all.”

Max nodded.

“Definitely not.”

Coco grinned.

“It was an adventure.”

Benny held up his pancake.

“To the Great Pancake Chase!”

Everyone cheered.

And from that day on, whenever the town had pancakes, someone always remembered to close the windows.

The End

Sometimes the funniest adventures begin when things don’t go according to plan.
